One day adventures: Tetbury and Westonbirt

Sometimes a weekend away isn’t possible or needed. Even on these weekends mini adventures are not hard to find! A quick scour of a local map should always reveal somewhere new to explore. Having recently applied to be a #GetOutside champion I was quite excited to be offered a months free subscription to OS online maps. I immediately put this to good use by pinpointing a walk from Tetbury to Westonbirt to take in some of Britains most perfectly coiffured countryside (it’s Prince Charles back garden don’t you know) and most delightful autumn colours.

The route took us from Tetbury along the Monarch’s Way to the national arboretum at Westonbirt. Printing off just an A4 section of the required map meant route finding was so easy we even managed to reunite two groups who had set off an hour apart.

I’m trying to limit my weekends away a little over the coming months so watch this space for more one day adventures in the South West!

I made my own map!
Britain’s most well kept field
Excellent tractor cemetery en route
